Abu dhabi: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the trilateral discussions between Ukraine, Russia, and the US in Abu Dhabi have concluded, labeling the talks as “constructive” and indicating that further meetings might occur as soon as next week.

According to Anadolu Agency, Zelenskyy shared on the US social media platform X that the Ukrainian delegation delivered a report following two days of trilateral meetings, marking the first of such a format in a considerable period. He emphasized the significance of the constructive nature of the discussions, which primarily focused on potential parameters for ending the ongoing war.

Zelenskyy noted the importance of American oversight in the process of ending the war and ensuring security. During the talks, the US proposed possible formats for formalizing the settlement parameters and discussed necessary security conditions. As a result, all parties agreed to report back to their respective capitals to coordinate further steps with their leaders.

Military representatives from the involved nations identified specific issues for potential discussion in future meetings. Zelenskyy confirmed Ukraine’s readiness to proceed and anticipated further meetings as early as next week, along with a personal briefing from the delegation upon their return.

Zelenskyy expressed gratitude towards the United Arab Emirates and its president for their mediation efforts and willingness to host subsequent meetings, reiterating Ukraine’s commitment to peace and security. The talks, held over two days, lasted more than three hours, with media reports also describing them as constructive.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov remarked that efforts to resolve the conflict are advancing and underscored the significance of the ‘Anchorage formula,’ referencing a prior meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
