Norwegian Prime Minister Condemns Trump’s NATO Comments as ‘Disrespectful’

Beijing: Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store has criticized US President Donald Trump's comments regarding NATO's involvement in Afghanistan, labeling them as "disrespectful." Store emphasized the importance of honoring those who have served and fallen in Afghanistan, highlighting the strong reactions from veterans and their families.

According to Anadolu Agency, Store expressed his disapproval through a Facebook post, stating that the fallen soldiers, their families, and veterans deserve to be acknowledged with truth and respect. His response followed Trump's remarks made on Thursday, where the US President suggested that NATO forces remained "a little off the front lines" during the Afghan conflict.

Trump's comments have sparked displeasure among NATO allies, including nations like Poland, Italy, and the UK. Leaders from these countries have voiced their discontent, describing Trump's words as "unacceptable," "insulting," and "frankly appalling."
