Damascus: The US has expressed its approval of the strategic agreements recently signed between Syria and Saudi Arabia. These agreements, finalized on Saturday, focus on aviation, telecommunications, infrastructure, and real estate, as stated by US Ambassador to Turkey and Special Envoy for Syria, Tom Barrack.

According to Anadolu Agency, Barrack took to the US social media platform X to highlight the significance of these partnerships. He noted that strategic collaborations in aviation, infrastructure, and telecommunications are poised to substantially aid Syria's reconstruction efforts. Barrack further mentioned that US President Donald Trump has stressed the importance of regional stability being achieved through nations taking responsibility for their future, and this partnership is seen as a step in that direction.

The agreements were signed in Syria's capital, Damascus, with the aim of bolstering telecommunications infrastructure, developing digital connectivity systems, and fostering a new era of cooperation grounded in mutual trust and respect, as noted by Talal al-Hilali, head of the Syrian Investment Authority. Saudi Arabia has played a supportive role toward Syria's new administration following the ousting of the Bashar al-Assad regime. The two nations have increased high-level interactions and concluded multiple agreements, particularly in the economic domain, to aid Syria's rebuilding efforts.
