Ankara: Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz met with Brazil's Ambassador to Ankara, Gilda Motta Santos Neves, to discuss strengthening bilateral ties, addressing global issues, and enhancing cooperation ahead of this year's UN climate change conference, COP31, which Turkey will host in the fall.
According to Anadolu Agency, the meeting took place at the Presidential Complex in Ankara and focused on expanding collaboration in various sectors, including infrastructure, defense, technology, and investment. The discussions also covered coordination on global issues and preparations for the COP31 conference scheduled for November.
Yilmaz emphasized Brazil as a strategic partner and indicated Turkey's intention to elevate bilateral relations to a more institutional framework. Plans to establish a high-level strategic cooperation council mechanism between the two countries were also highlighted.
Furthermore, Yilmaz mentioned efforts to increase bilateral trade to reach a target of $10 billion, stressing the importance of balanced trade relations. He expressed gratitude to the Brazilian ambassador for her visit and the productive discussions.
