Eurozone Industrial Production Sees Decline in December 2025

Brussels: Industrial production contracted by 1.4% in the euro area and 0.8% in the EU month-on-month in December 2025, Eurostat announced on Monday.

According to Anadolu Agency, the highest monthly drops were seen in Slovakia with 4.9%, Germany with 2.9%, and Spain with 2.6%, as stated by the 27-member bloc's statistical authority. On the other hand, the highest increases in industrial production were observed in Luxembourg at 6.4%, Sweden at 4.4%, and Malta at 4.2%.

In the eurozone, industrial production for intermediate goods decreased by 0.1%, energy by 0.3%, capital goods by 1.9%, and non-durable consumer goods by 0.3%. However, there was a slight increase for durable consumer goods by 0.2%.

In the EU, industrial production for intermediate goods rose by 0.1%, durable consumer goods by 0.5%, and non-durable consumer goods by 0.6%. There was a decline for energy by 0.4% and for capital goods by 1.4%.

On an annual basis, industrial production posted an increase of 1.2% for the euro area and 1.4% for the EU.
