Geneva: Iran announced that the second round of indirect negotiations with the United States, taking place in Geneva on Tuesday, will concentrate on Tehran's nuclear program. This marks a significant continuation in diplomatic efforts between the two nations.

According to Anadolu Agency, Esmail Baghaei, the Foreign Ministry spokesman, informed the state broadcaster that the Iranian delegation is preparing to leave for the negotiation venue. The discussions are scheduled to commence at 12:30 Iran time (0900 GMT). Ahead of these talks, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi engaged in discussions with Rafael Grossi, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), on Monday to address technical aspects of the nuclear issue.

Simultaneously, the US delegation is holding talks with the head of the UN nuclear agency, which aligns with the ongoing indirect negotiations between Iran and the US. Baghaei highlighted that Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi is tasked with conveying issues to the respective teams, as Oman plays a mediating role in these discussions.

The resumption of Iran-US indirect nuclear diplomacy in Muscat earlier this month follows a hiatus of nearly eight months, which was triggered by an Israeli attack on Iran that led to a 12-day conflict. Positive assessments have emerged from both parties following this latest round of talks, which occur amidst increasing tensions due to the US military presence in the Persian Gulf.

Leading the Iranian delegation in Tuesday's negotiations is Abbas Araghchi, while the American side is represented by envoy Steve Witkoff and unofficial adviser Jared Kushner.
