Istanbul: The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus's (TRNC) National Security Council met under the chairmanship of President Tufan Erhurman to assess regional developments amid the US and Israel's joint attack on Iran and Tehran's response targeting their assets in the Middle East.

According to Anadolu Agency, discussions focused on the situation triggered by large-scale US and Israeli strikes against Iran, including detailed assessments of potential TRNC impacts under various scenarios.

The meeting, called by Erhurman, brought together key senior officials, including the parliament speaker, premier, foreign and interior ministers, the commander of the security forces, the leader of the main opposition party, and the head of the civil defense organization.

The US and Israel launched a major offensive against Iran on Saturday, resulting in the deaths of several high-ranking Iranian figures, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

In retaliation, Iran has carried out drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and regional locations hosting US military assets, heightening tensions across the Middle East.
