Ankara: The Israeli army has issued a 24-hour ultimatum to individuals it refers to as 'representatives of the Iranian regime' in Lebanon, demanding their immediate departure from the country or face military action. Army spokesperson Avichay Adraee announced the ultimatum on social media platform X, emphasizing that the Israeli military will not tolerate the presence of these representatives.

According to Anadolu Agency, the warning stated that after the 24-hour period, there would be no safe haven for these representatives in Lebanon, and the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) would actively target them. The situation follows claims by the Israeli army regarding the killing of Dawood Ali Zadeh in Tehran, identified as a senior commander in Iran's Quds Force, who allegedly directed Hezbollah to launch attacks on Israel.

Hezbollah, in response to the ongoing tensions, claimed responsibility for targeting an Israeli military site in northern Israel. This action was framed as retaliation against continued Israeli aggression in Lebanon and the reported killing of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei amid US-Israeli strikes on Tehran.

In the wake of Hezbollah's actions, the Israeli military conducted airstrikes across Lebanon, resulting in at least 40 fatalities and injuries to nearly 250 individuals. The broader regional conflict intensified with large-scale attacks by the US and Israel on Iran, leading to significant casualties and prompting retaliatory strikes from Tehran targeting Israel and Gulf countries hosting US assets.
