Beirut: At least 72 people were killed and 437 others injured in Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon since Monday, the Lebanese Health Ministry said Wednesday. The Israeli army targeted several areas, including Beirut's southern suburbs, in response to rocket fire by Hezbollah amidst escalating regional tensions following US-Israeli attacks on Iran.

According to Anadolu Agency, Beirut's Disaster Risk Management Unit reported 403 'hostile acts' against Lebanon since early Monday. The Israeli army issued evacuation orders for Lebanese residents as it broadened its offensive across the nation.

Lebanese Social Affairs Minister Haneen Sayed stated that 83,847 displaced individuals have sought refuge in shelters due to Israeli evacuation warnings, with the number of shelter centers reaching 399 across Lebanon.

Israel has consistently breached a cease-fire agreement with Hezbollah, signed in November 2024, conducting frequent strikes that have resulted in numerous casualties. The Israeli offensive against Lebanon, which began in October 2023, escalated into a full-scale war in September 2024, leading to over 4,000 deaths and approximately 17,000 injuries.
