Abu dhabi: The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has reported an incident involving a vessel 36 nautical miles north of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The vessel's captain reported experiencing a splash followed by a loud bang, as stated by UKMTO on US social media platform X on Tuesday.
According to Anadolu Agency, this incident occurs amidst a period of heightened regional tensions. These tensions escalated following a joint attack by Israel and the US on Iran on February 28, which resulted in over 1,200 fatalities and more than 10,000 injuries. In response, Tehran has executed drone and missile strikes aimed at targets in Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf nations hosting US military installations.
