Isfahan: Russia announced that its consulate general in the Iranian city of Isfahan sustained damage during an attack over the weekend. Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova indicated that the damage occurred as a result of an attack on the nearby provincial governor's office on Sunday.

According to Anadolu Agency, Zakharova stated that the impact shattered windows in both the consulate's office building and residential apartments. Several employees felt the blast wave, but no casualties were reported. Zakharova emphasized that Russia views such attacks on diplomatic and consular missions as a "flagrant violation" of international law.

She urged all parties involved to respect the inviolability of diplomatic facilities and to avoid any actions that could harm the safety and health of diplomatic personnel. Zakharova called for an immediate cessation of military confrontations and urged parties to return to negotiations. The escalation in the region has intensified since Israel and the US launched a joint attack against Iran on February 28, resulting in over 1,200 deaths and thousands of injuries.

In response to the attacks, Tehran has refused to surrender and launched its own retaliatory drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
