Tehran: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated on Wednesday that the sole resolution to the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran lies in the acknowledgment of Iran’s ‘legitimate rights’ coupled with firm international assurances against ‘future aggression.’
According to Anadolu Agency, President Pezeshkian expressed his views in a post on X, a US-based social media platform, where he mentioned discussions with leaders from Russia and Pakistan. He emphasized Iran’s dedication to achieving peace in the region and denounced the conflict as instigated by the ‘Zionist regime and US.’ Pezeshkian insisted that the recognition of Iran’s rights, payment of reparations, and the establishment of firm international guarantees are essential steps towards ending the hostilities.
The conflict has intensified since February 28, when Israel and the US initiated a joint military offensive against Iran, resulting in over 1,200 casualties, including the death of Iran’s then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and injuries to over 10,000 individuals, as reported by Iranian authorities. In response, Tehran launched drone and missile strikes targeting locales in Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries that host US military installations.
