Turkish Navy Strengthens Ties with Senegal Through Search and Rescue Training

Dakar: The Turkish Defense Ministry announced on Tuesday that personnel from the Naval Forces are conducting flights to provide search and rescue training in Senegal.

According to Anadolu Agency, the ministry shared on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal that the personnel of the Naval Forces are actively engaged in missions within Senegal's search and rescue area. This initiative is aimed at offering training and support to the Senegalese Armed Forces, enhancing their capabilities in critical operations.

The statement further elaborated that these training flights are being executed over both Senegalese airspace and maritime jurisdiction areas. The ministry emphasized the significance of these exercises in fostering mutual cooperation and building trust between the two nations. As part of this collaborative effort, 'Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Maritime Surveillance Support' flights were conducted with the involvement of Senegalese aircrew on March 12, 2026.
