Projectile Strikes Tanker Off UAE Coast, Reports UKMTO

Fujairah: A projectile struck a tanker anchored 23 nautical miles east of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates, as reported by the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO). The incident did not result in any injuries but did cause minor structural damage to the vessel.

According to Anadolu Agency, the company security officer for the vessel stated that investigations suggest the damage was likely caused by falling debris from interceptions occurring in the area. This event is set against a backdrop of regional tensions, with Israel and the United States conducting a joint offensive against Iran since February 28. The ongoing conflict has resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,300 people, including the former Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.

Iran has responded with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf nations that host US military assets. These retaliatory measures have led to casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions in global markets and aviation.
