Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Announce Death of Basij Chief in US-Israeli Strike

Tehran: Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced on Tuesday that Gholamreza Soleimani, the commander of the paramilitary Basij forces, was killed in a US-Israeli strike. The announcement was made public through the Fars News Agency, though no additional details were provided regarding the circumstances of the strike.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Israeli army confirmed that Soleimani was "eliminated" during an overnight strike on Monday. This development is part of ongoing joint military operations by Israel and the United States against Iran, which have been ongoing since February 28. These operations have reportedly resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,300 individuals, including Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

In response to these attacks, Iran has launched drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries that host US military assets. These retaliatory actions have led to casualties, infrastructural damage, and disruptions in global markets and aviation.
