Tehran: Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced on Tuesday that Gholamreza Soleimani, the commander of the paramilitary Basij forces, was killed in a US-Israeli strike. The announcement was made public through the Fars News Agency, though no additional details were provided regarding the circumstances of the strike.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Israeli army confirmed that Soleimani was "eliminated" during an overnight strike on Monday. This development is part of ongoing joint military operations by Israel and the United States against Iran, which have been ongoing since February 28.
