Beirut: The death toll from Israeli attacks on Lebanon has surged to 1,094 since the onset of Israel's expanded offensive on March 2, as reported by Lebanon's Health Ministry on Wednesday. The ongoing conflict has also resulted in significant injuries, with the total number reaching 3,119 during the same period.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Health Ministry's statement, disseminated by Lebanon's state National News Agency, highlighted the tragic loss of life, including 121 children and 81 women among the deceased. The recent violence has seen a sharp rise, with 22 people killed and 153 injured across Lebanon in the past 24 hours alone.

The escalation in hostilities began with a cross-border attack by Hezbollah on March 2, prompting the Israeli army to respond with intense airstrikes and a ground offensive in southern Lebanon. This latest conflict is part of a broader regional tension that erupted following the start of a joint US-Israeli offensive on Iran on February 28. The offensive has claimed over 1,340 lives in Iran, with Tehran retaliating through drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and US military installations in Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries.
