Abu dhabi: The United Arab Emirates on Saturday reported that six individuals sustained injuries due to debris after a ballistic missile from Iran was intercepted. The Abu Dhabi Media Office confirmed the incident, noting that debris fell near Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi after the missile was successfully intercepted by air defense systems.

According to Anadolu Agency, the interception resulted in a third fire and an additional injury involving a Pakistani national. This incident increased the total number of injured to six, with injuries ranging from minor to moderate. The authorities have managed to control all three fires and are actively conducting cooling operations at the affected locations.

Earlier announcements on Saturday had reported five injuries and two fires due to the incident. While the statement did not explicitly identify the missile’s origin, it followed a declaration by the UAE Defense Ministry regarding ‘missile and drone attacks’ originating from Iran.
