Salalah: Two drones targeted Oman’s Salalah Port, injuring one expatriate worker and causing limited damage to one of the cranes at the facility.

According to Anadolu Agency, the incident was reported on Saturday by the Oman News Agency, citing a security source.

The Sultanate of Oman has condemned the attacks and affirmed its commitment to taking measures to ensure the security of the country and the safety of its residents. In response to the incident, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters issued a statement asserting that it had targeted a US vessel at a distance from the Port of Salalah. The statement also noted Iran’s respect for Oman’s national sovereignty.

Tensions in the region have been increasing since the US and Israel launched a joint offensive on Iran on February 28, resulting in the death of more than 1,340 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Tehran has since retaliated with drone and missile strikes against Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, leading to casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions in global markets and aviation.
