Manama: Bahrain announced on Sunday that its air defenses have intercepted and destroyed 174 missiles and 391 drones targeting the kingdom since the commencement of Iranian attacks on February 28. The General Command of the Bahrain Defense Force reported that their air defense systems continue to counter ongoing waves of what they termed as ‘terrorist Iranian attacks.’

According to Anadolu Agency, the statement did not disclose any information regarding casualties or damage resulting from these interceptions. The entire region has been on high alert following the joint offensive by the US and Israel on Iran that began on February 28. This offensive has resulted in over 1,340 fatalities, including the then-Supreme Leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei.

In response, Tehran has launched drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and countries in the Gulf region, including those hosting US military assets such as Jordan and Iraq. These retaliatory strikes have led to casualties, damage to infrastructure, and disruptions in global markets and aviation.
