Syria: Syria and Germany officially re-established their bilateral partnership on Monday, Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa announced during a joint press conference in Berlin with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

According to Anadolu Agency, President al-Sharaa expressed his gratitude to Germany for its support during a critical time for Syrians. He acknowledged Germany's significant role in providing refuge to a million Syrians, offering them opportunities to learn, work, and rebuild their lives when other avenues were unavailable.

In addition, President al-Sharaa addressed concerns regarding the ongoing military escalation in the region. He highlighted the potential risks this poses to global energy supplies and prices, emphasizing the need for stability. Furthermore, he condemned any actions that infringe upon the security and sovereignty of Arab states, specifically calling out Israeli attacks and violations against Syrian territory, including breaches of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement and the occupation of new territories.
