Kyiv: Ukraine's National Police reported on Monday that they have received 1,216 anonymous bomb threats targeting buildings across the nation. The threats have created a significant challenge for authorities as they work to ensure public safety.

According to Anadolu Agency, 20% of the threats have been processed so far, and no confirmed cases of explosives have been found. The threats began coming in since 11 am (0800GMT) through the email addresses of various state authorities, local governments, educational institutions, enterprises, organizations, banks, and other entities.

The police statement, published on the US social media platform Facebook, highlighted that explosives services, dog handlers, and investigative and operational groups are actively working on the ground. Inspections and checks are being conducted in accordance with all safety protocols to address these threats thoroughly.

Authorities are taking steps to identify the individuals responsible for spreading these false reports. The police indicated that these threats might be part of an information-psychological operation by an adversary.
