Iran’s President Stresses Security and Interests in War Resolution

Tehran: Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian stated on Monday that any decision to conclude the ongoing conflict with the United States and Israel must ensure the security and interests of the Iranian populace.

According to Anadolu Agency, President Pezeshkian highlighted the significant role of the Iranian army's resistance and the national unity displayed by the citizens as pivotal factors in overcoming the current critical circumstances. His remarks came during a cabinet meeting, as reported by the state news agency IRNA.

Pezeshkian also emphasized the impact of 'pro-government demonstrations' in reinforcing Iran's stance. He noted, "The people's gathering in the evening has great value... Iran inspires freedom fighters."

Tensions in the region have escalated since February 28, when Israel and the US launched an offensive against Iran, resulting in over 1,340 casualties, including the death of then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In response, Iran has conducted drone and missile attacks on Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf nations hosting US military forces, leading to casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions in global markets and aviation.
