Tel aviv: The commander of US Central Command (CENTCOM) recently visited Israel to engage in discussions with senior Israeli military officials regarding ongoing operations and regional security concerns, CENTCOM announced on Tuesday.

According to Anadolu Agency, during the visit on March 29-30, CENTCOM Commander Brad Cooper held talks with Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir. The discussions focused on the progress of operations aimed at dismantling Iran's regional influence and its ability to project power beyond its borders.

The meeting also served to reaffirm the robust US-Israel defense partnership, with both leaders emphasizing the importance of continued military coordination between the two nations.

Before concluding the visit, Commander Cooper met with US troops stationed at various locations in support of Operation Epic Fury. During this visit, he awarded medals to over 40 service members, recognizing their "exceptional performance" in the initial weeks of the operation.

The region remains on high alert following the US-Israel air offensive against Iran on February 28, which resulted in the deaths of more than 1,340 individuals, including the then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In response, Tehran has executed drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets. These retaliatory measures have caused casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions to global markets and aviation.
