Iran: Iran's parliament speaker warned US President Donald Trump Sunday against further escalation, saying Washington's actions risk dragging the US into a 'living hell.'

According to Anadolu Agency, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, the speaker of Iran's parliament, issued a stern warning to President Trump on the social media platform X. Qalibaf criticized Trump's actions, accusing him of heedlessly leading the United States into turmoil. He emphasized that the entire region could be engulfed in conflict due to Trump's adherence to the directives of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Qalibaf's statements come in response to President Trump's threats to bomb Iran's power plants and bridges if Tehran does not open the strategic Strait of Hormuz by Tuesday. Trump's posts on Truth Social indicated a looming deadline, with cryptic references to "Plant Day" and "Bridge Day," suggesting imminent military actions if his demands are not met.

The warnings from Iran's parliament speaker highlight the rising tensions between the US and Iran. Trump's threats follow a series of US and Israeli strikes on Iran that have resulted in significant casualties, including the death of Iran's then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei at the end of February.
