Tehran: Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) vowed Wednesday to make Israel "regret" if it continues its attacks on Lebanon despite a temporary ceasefire between Tehran and Washington. "If the attacks on Lebanon do not stop immediately, we will deliver a response that will make the occupying aggressors in the region regret," the IRGC said in a statement carried by the state television.

According to Anadolu Agency, Iran and the US announced a two-week truce on Tuesday aimed at paving the way for a final agreement to end a war launched by Washington and Tel Aviv against Tehran on February 28, which has left thousands dead and wounded. Pakistani mediators stated that the truce includes Lebanon, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed it does not. Despite the ongoing Israeli strikes, Hezbollah has so far adhered to the ceasefire.

The Israeli army launched a wave of deadly strikes across Lebanon on Wednesday, resulting in at least 254 deaths and 1,165 injuries, according to the Lebanese Civil Defense. Israel has been conducting airstrikes and a ground offensive in southern Lebanon since a cross-border attack by Hezbollah on March 2, despite a ceasefire that took effect in November 2024.
