Ankara: The Turkish Presidential High Advisory Council on Wednesday underscored the importance of sustaining the ceasefire following an 'unlawful attack on Iran.' The council highlighted ongoing communications with all parties involved to ensure the preservation of peace and stability in the region.

According to Anadolu Agency, Turkish Presidential Communications Director Burhanettin Duran issued a written statement detailing the meeting held at the Presidential Complex, chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The discussion focused on regional conflicts, recent global developments, and the 'Terror-Free Trkiye' initiative.

The statement elaborated on the council's review of progress and future strategies aimed at advancing Trkiye in sectors such as defense, communication, information technologies, transportation, energy, urban planning, and tourism, amid persistent regional challenges.

The council also deliberated on strengthening internal unity, emphasizing national cohesion as a critical factor in addressing threats to the country. The 'Terror-Free Trkiye' process was highlighted, with a call for decisive steps to bolster unity and solidarity.

Duran further noted the evaluation of comprehensive judicial, administrative, sociological, and cultural measures, alongside detailed plans to tackle all forms of violence, particularly in response to recent incidents in schools.

A tragic shooting at a middle school in Trkiye's Kahramanmaras province on Wednesday resulted in nine fatalities and 13 injuries, including six critically wounded individuals, as reported by Turkish Interior Minister Mustafa Ciftci. Kahramanmaras Governor Mukerrem Unluer confirmed that the attack was perpetrated by an eighth-grade student at Ayser Calik Secondary School for reasons that remain unknown.
