Beirut: Lebanon's Hezbollah group announced on Tuesday that it had targeted northern Israel, marking the first such attack since a ceasefire was established. The attack was reportedly a response to what Hezbollah described as ongoing Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement.

According to Anadolu Agency, Hezbollah stated that its fighters launched a rocket barrage and deployed a swarm of attack drones against an Israeli artillery position located in the settlement of Kfar Giladi, northern Israel. The group claimed that this artillery site had been responsible for recent shelling incidents affecting the town of Yahmar al-Shaqif in southern Lebanon.

Hezbollah justified the attack as a retaliation to what it referred to as "blatant and documented Israeli violations" that have purportedly surpassed 200 breaches since the ceasefire was initiated last Friday. These violations allegedly included attacks on civilians and the destruction of homes and villages in southern Lebanon.

The ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel went into effect just four days ago, intended to halt hostilities between the two regions. However, tensions appear to remain high. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz commented on Saturday that Israel plans to maintain control over all areas it occupied in southern Lebanon during its latest military offensive.

Official figures indicate that since March 2, Israeli operations in Lebanon have resulted in 2,294 deaths, 7,544 injuries, and the displacement of over 1 million people, highlighting the severe impact of the ongoing conflict.
