Syria, UAE Leaders Discuss Regional Security and Economic Cooperation

Abu dhabi: Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa and United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan engaged in discussions on regional security and economic cooperation during talks held in Abu Dhabi. The focus was on enhancing economic ties and addressing regional security challenges.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Syrian presidency reported that the leaders examined regional developments and explored potential economic partnerships aimed at supporting development efforts. They emphasized the necessity of coordination to uphold regional stability. During the talks, President Sharaa expressed Syria's solidarity with the UAE, condemning actions that threaten its sovereignty and security, particularly referencing recent incidents involving Iran.

The UAE's state news agency WAM highlighted that both leaders reiterated their dedication to strengthening bilateral ties to promote development and long-term growth in their respective nations. This diplomatic visit marks President Sharaa's third stop on his Gulf tour, following visits to Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

In Doha, President Sharaa conducted talks with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani concerning bilateral relations and regional issues. Prior to this, he met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, where the discussions centered around enhancing economic cooperation and regional connectivity initiatives.
