US Redirects 48th Vessel from Iranian Ports Under Blockade

Washington: The US announced on Saturday that it has redirected the 48th vessel attempting to enter or exit Iranian ports, as part of its ongoing naval blockade.

According to Anadolu Agency, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported on social media platform X that over the past 20 days, 48 vessels have been redirected to ensure adherence to the blockade. This latest update marks an increase of four vessels from the 44 previously reported.

The naval blockade was instituted on April 13, targeting Iranian maritime activity in the Strait of Hormuz. This action is in response to Iran's restrictions on vessel passage through the waterway, following a conflict that began on February 28 and is currently paused.
