New york: US President Donald Trump announced that the ongoing regional conflict with Iran will be one of the key topics during his upcoming summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping, scheduled for mid-May.

According to Anadolu Agency, Trump expressed to reporters that he plans to address the situation with Iran, noting that Chinese President Xi has been cooperative on this issue. Despite China's reliance on the Strait of Hormuz for approximately 60% of its oil supply, Trump remarked that China has maintained a respectful stance towards US-led operations in the region.

Trump credited this cooperation to his personal rapport with Xi, whom he praised as a "tremendous guy." He also highlighted the profitable economic relationship between the US and China, stating, "We do a lot of business with China and making a lot of money. It's different than it used to be."

The summit, initially planned for April, was postponed due to the ongoing conflict with Iran and is now set to take place on May 14-15 in Beijing.
