Brussels: Industrial production in the euro area has experienced a decrease of 2.1% in March compared to the previous year, marking the third consecutive month of decline. In the broader European Union, production fell by 1% over the same period.
According to Anadolu Agency, the most significant decreases in industrial production were noted in Belgium with a 3% drop, followed by Estonia at 2.6%, and Sweden at 1.9%, as reported by Eurostat on Wednesday.
In March, the euro area's industrial production for non-durable consumer goods decreased by 12.6%, durable consumer goods by 3.1%, and intermediate goods by 1.2%. However, there were increases in the production of capital goods by 2.9% and energy by 1.2% during the same period.
On a monthly comparison, industrial production showed a slight increase, rising by 0.2% in the euro area and by 0.8% in the EU.
