Pyeongtaek: A US military helicopter made an emergency landing in a rice field south of Seoul, with no casualties reported.
According to Anadolu Agency, officials stated that an AH-64E Apache helicopter conducted a precautionary landing in Pyeongtaek, located in Gyeonggi province, approximately 65 kilometers south of Seoul.
The helicopter's two pilots emerged unharmed from the incident, and there were no reports of fire or other secondary issues. The local police have indicated that US Forces Korea plans to repair and relocate the helicopter, a process anticipated to last two to three days.
In a statement, the Eighth US Army mentioned, "The situation is under control through coordination between military personnel and local authorities, and an investigation is under way to determine the exact cause of the landing." The pilots had reported potential engine overheating prior to the emergency landing.
