Panathinaikos Owner Criticizes EuroLeague Over Security Lapses During Athens Semi-Final

Athens: Panathinaikos owner Dimitrios Giannakopoulos has launched a scathing attack on the EuroLeague following significant security and organizational failures reported during the semi-final match between Olympiacos and Fenerbahce on Friday night.

According to Anadolu Agency, Giannakopoulos took to Instagram to express his discontent, highlighting the lack of adequate security measures at the event. He criticized the EuroLeague for allowing thousands to enter the stadium without proper ID and ticket checks, suggesting a breach in organizational responsibility.

Giannakopoulos further demanded an apology from the police or relevant authorities, representing not only Panathinaikos fans but also the many attendees who had paid to watch the game safely. He emphasized that the EuroLeague administration should be held accountable for the lapses observed during the match.
