Athens: Panathinaikos Basketball Club President Dimitris Giannakopoulos expressed his dissatisfaction over the organizational mishaps during the Olympiakos-Fenerbahce Beko match in the EuroLeague Final Four, held in Athens.
According to Anadolu Agency, the EuroLeague faced significant backlash on Friday due to several organizational and security issues that occurred during the semifinal game between Olympiacos and Fenerbahce Beko. The problems included crowd management challenges, ticketing disruptions, and security lapses, all of which marred the prestigious Final Four event at the Telekom Center.
The Telekom Center, known as the regular home court for Panathinaikos, was the venue for the event. In a video posted on social media, Giannakopoulos criticized the EuroLeague for its handling of the situation, saying, "If this had happened during the Panathinaikos game, you would have punished us, you would have fined us millions. You would have expelled us from the games. I would not even be able to go to the arena for the rest of my life. It was your responsibility because we handed over the arena to you. This happened. What will you do now? Is it Giannakopoulos' fault again? Will you punish me? Well done."
