Washington: US President Donald Trump on Saturday told CBS News that Washington and Tehran are 'getting a lot closer' to an agreement to end the war between the two countries.
According to Anadolu Agency, Trump refrained from providing details about the agreement, mentioning that "every day it gets better and better." He stated, "I can't tell you before I tell them, right?" during a phone interview with CBS News. The President emphasized that the final agreement would prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, noting he "wouldn't even be talking about it" otherwise. He further mentioned that the deal would ensure Iran's enriched uranium is "satisfactorily handled."
Trump insisted, "I will only sign a deal where we get everything we want." CBS News highlighted that Trump is still evaluating proposals and has not yet made a decision. He is in consultation with advisers and engaging in discussions with foreign leaders, including those from Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries.
