Washington: US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that an agreement with Iran to end hostilities between the two nations "has been largely negotiated, subject to finalization."
According to Anadolu Agency, Trump shared the news on his Truth Social platform, stating that a deal involving the United States, Iran, and several other countries has progressed significantly. The president mentioned that he had engaged in a "very good call" with regional leaders to discuss the potential agreement and also spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Trump elaborated that the final components of the agreement are under discussion and will soon be revealed. He highlighted that as part of the agreement, the Strait of Hormuz would be reopened, marking a significant step in the negotiations. The discussions have included proposals and counterproposals facilitated through Islamabad, focusing on reopening the strategic waterway, Tehran's nuclear ambitions, and potential relief from sanctions.
