Head of Russian Security Council Warns of Imminent Strike on Kyiv

Moscow: Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu announced that a strike on Kyiv could occur 'at any moment.' Shoigu emphasized that Russia had already demonstrated its capabilities in previous operations and warned that any assumptions about Russia's military capacity being depleted were incorrect.

According to Anadolu Agency, Shoigu made these statements at a news conference during the International Security Forum in the Moscow region. He highlighted that Russia's warning for foreign ambassadors to leave Kyiv was delivered with serious intent. The tensions have escalated following Russian strikes on Ukraine's military-industrial sites, which Moscow justified as retaliation for Ukrainian attacks on civilian locations within Russia.

Additionally, Shoigu addressed matters concerning Armenia, stating that there were no indications of Russia's military base in Armenia closing despite political shifts in Yerevan. He affirmed that the base is operating normally without any threats to its presence.

Furthermore, Shoigu commented on the strategic partnership agreement between Armenia and the US, signed by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Shoigu suggested that the agreement seemed more like an election campaign move rather than a comprehensive strategic partnership.

Shoigu also mentioned that Russia had learned from recent events in the Persian Gulf, particularly the importance of maintaining emergency reserves of essential supplies. He cautioned that instability in the Middle East, exacerbated by Western actions, could lead to global repercussions, including worsening food shortages in Africa, putting millions at risk of hunger.
