Beirut: Hezbollah announced early Saturday that it had executed 22 attacks against Israeli military targets over the past 24 hours, including strikes that hit six Israeli Merkava tanks in southern Lebanon. The attacks, which involved drone and missile strikes, were reported as a response to Israeli breaches of a ceasefire agreement and assaults on civilians and villages in the region.

According to Anadolu Agency, Hezbollah stated that its fighters targeted five Merkava tanks in the town of Yahmar al-Shaqif in Nabatieh province. These attacks utilized drones, guided missiles, and other weapons, and the tanks were reportedly seen burning after the strikes. A sixth Merkava tank was targeted near Dibbine in the Marjayoun district, where it was also observed in flames.

The group further reported multiple attacks on Israeli troops, military vehicles, and positions across various areas in southern Lebanon, including Naqoura, Haddatha, Rashaf, Bayyada, and Zawtar al-Sharqiya. Hezbollah utilized attack drones against Israeli troop gatherings, military sites, and technical equipment, also carrying out rocket attacks on Israeli forces.

In northern Israel, Hezbollah launched drone attacks on Israeli soldiers near the settlement of Natua and at the Galilee Forest military camp. These drone activities have raised concerns in Israel, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu labeling them as a significant threat due to detection challenges.

The conflict persists despite a ceasefire initially implemented on April 17, which was extended for 45 days beginning May 17 after US-mediated indirect discussions. Israeli attacks have continued into Lebanon, and according to the Lebanese Health Ministry, since March 2, these attacks have resulted in 3,355 fatalities across the country.
