Ankara: Trkiye on Monday strongly condemned Israel’s expansion of its occupation in Lebanon, saying the move threatens regional stability and deepens the humanitarian crisis.

According to Anadolu Agency, in a written statement, the Foreign Ministry said Israel was pursuing policies similar to those seen in the second year of genocide in Gaza. The ministry expressed strong disapproval of Israel’s actions, stating that the Netanyahu government appears to be aiming to render the occupied areas in Lebanon uninhabitable, forcing Lebanese people into permanent displacement.

The statement further noted that Israel’s expansionist and aggressive policies are undermining efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region, while exacerbating the humanitarian situation. Trkiye urged the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to take immediate and concrete steps to ensure that Israel ends its attacks and occupation in Lebanon.
