Ankara: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Thursday discussed the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the US during a phone call with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. The conversation focused on reviewing the positions of the parties and assessing the latest stage reached in the negotiations between Tehran and Washington.
According to Anadolu Agency, no further details were provided about the conversation between the two top officials. The talks come amidst a backdrop of regional escalation in the Middle East, following a joint offensive by the United States and Israel on Iran that began on February 28. This offensive has disrupted key shipping routes and energy infrastructure, leading to increased prices for oil, gas, and fuel, and raising fears of shortages, inflation, and a renewed cost-of-living crisis.
