Gaziantep: Anadolu’s City Economies Summit, organized by Anadolu and hosted by Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, is set to explore the revitalization of trade, logistics, and production ties between Trkiye and Syria. The event aims to examine prospects for regional economic integration, focusing on the strengthening commercial relationship between the neighboring countries.

According to Anadolu Agency, the summit, named City Economies Summit Gaziantep-Aleppo, will convene on June 9 at the Mavera Congress and Art Center of Gaziantep University. It will gather business representatives from both nations to deliberate on future economic cooperation. A key topic will be the establishment of specially regulated production and trade zones along the border, potentially creating a large-scale intermediate production ecosystem between Gaziantep and Aleppo.

The summit will commence with opening remarks from notable figures including Gaziantep Governor Kemal Ceber, Aleppo Governor Azzam Al-Gharib, Gaziantep Mayor Fatma Sahin, and Anadolu CEO Serdar Karagoz. The first panel, titled New Horizons in Trade for Trkiye and Syria, will be moderated by Serhat Akkan, the chief of the Economy-Finance News Department of Anadolu. Trade Minister Omer Bolat and Syrian Economy and Industry Minister Mohammad Nidal al-Shaar will participate as speakers, discussing opportunities for enhanced cooperation between the two economies.

A special session will feature Trkiye’s Ambassador to Damascus, Nuh Yilmaz, focusing on the revival of trade, logistics, and production links between Trkiye and Syria, while also addressing broader regional economic integration.
