France Congratulates Armenia’s Pashinyan on Election Victory, Vows Continued Support for Closer Ties with Europe


Paris: French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday congratulated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his election victory and vowed continued support for the country’s closer ties with Europe.



According to Anadolu Agency, Macron expressed his intentions to strengthen cooperation with Armenia in a message shared on US social media platform X. He emphasized the importance of supporting peace and Armenia’s sovereignty while fostering the country’s growing relationship with Europe.



Macron extended his congratulations to Pashinyan for his “resounding victory” following the results of the parliamentary elections. Pashinyan’s Civil Contract party secured a majority, obtaining 49.81% of the vote, as reported by the Central Electoral Commission. The preliminary results were based on ballots counted from all 2,005 polling stations, as reported by state news agency Armenpress.
