Yerevan: Eurasian leaders on Monday congratulated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his election victory following a parliamentary vote in the South Caucasus nation over the weekend.

According to Anadolu Agency, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze expressed his congratulations to Pashinyan on social media platform X, conveying his anticipation of strengthening the strategic partnership and friendly relations between Georgia and Armenia.

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also extended his congratulations to Pashinyan, emphasizing the fair conduct of the elections and Astana’s readiness to continue active cooperation with Yerevan across various sectors. This was conveyed through a statement by Kazakhstan’s presidential press service Akorda.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described Pashinyan’s victory as a testament to Armenia’s sovereignty and independence. He underlined Ukraine’s eagerness to expand cooperation and urged the European Union to provide tangible support to Armenia to ensure improved relations and better living conditions.

Moldovan President Maia Sandu also congratulated Pashinyan, highlighting his victory despite foreign interference. She expressed her commitment to enhancing dialogue and cooperation between Moldova and Armenia.

Approximately 1.47 million Armenians participated in the country’s parliamentary election, with a turnout of nearly 59%. Pashinyan’s Civil Contract party secured 49.82% of the vote, while the Strong Armenia party, led by billionaire Samvel Karapetyan, garnered 23.28%, according to preliminary results from Armenia’s Central Election Commission.
