Bahrain Intercepts Iranian Aerial Attacks During Regional Escalation

Manama: Bahrain announced on Wednesday that its air defenses successfully intercepted and destroyed "a number of treacherous Iranian aerial attacks" in the midst of escalating military tensions in the region.

According to Anadolu Agency, Bahrain's military accused Tehran of maintaining a "systematic hostile approach" with its attacks, which involved missiles and drones targeting civilians within Bahrain. The Bahraini army relayed this information through a statement published on the US social media platform X.

The army emphasized that all military units are at maximum readiness and fully prepared to defend the Kingdom. It urged the public to remain vigilant and to avoid any "suspicious objects" that might be remnants of the Iranian attack, instructing citizens to report such findings immediately.

The Bahraini army condemned the targeting of civilians and private property with missiles and drones, labeling it a "flagrant violation of international humanitarian law."

Earlier, the Bahraini Interior Ministry activated warning sirens across the country. This action followed claims by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard that it had targeted the US Fifth Fleet stationed in Bahrain.
