Tim Hodgson addressed the opening session of the conference and trade show on Tuesday, emphasizing that Canada is reliable, democratic, and "once again open for business."

According to Anadolu Agency, Middle East tensions have disrupted energy markets, prompting Canada to reinforce its position as a dependable global energy supplier. The event organizers anticipated 30,000 attendees this year, with a noticeable increase in international participants compared to previous years.

Hodgson highlighted the interconnected nature of energy policy with economic, security, trade, and investment policies, stating, "We all know energy policy is now economic policy. It is security policy. It is trade policy. It is investment policy." He further asserted Canada's proactive stance by declaring, "The world is not waiting for Canada. But Canada is not waiting either. We're rising to the moment."
