US Journalist Tucker Carlson Claims Trump Did Not Consult Israel on Iran Deal

Washington: American journalist and political commentator Tucker Carlson has revealed that US President Donald Trump did not consult Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding an agreement with Iran. Carlson stated that Trump understands the necessity of weakening Netanyahu's position to advance the deal, asserting that Israel's stance could threaten the agreement.

According to Anadolu Agency, Carlson shared these insights on his podcast, uploaded to YouTube on Wednesday. He emphasized that Trump's strategy includes diminishing Israel's moral legitimacy in the United States to maintain progress on the agreement. Carlson remarked, "Trump knows that he has to diminish Benjamin Netanyahu and not just Netanyahu but the state of Israel's moral legitimacy in the United States in order to keep going. And so amazingly, he's done that."

Carlson further noted that a confidant of Trump, from 15 years prior, had mentioned Trump's capacity to disappoint everyone, suggesting that it might now be Netanyahu's turn. He also disclosed that Trump did not consult Israel on the Iran deal but merely sent them a copy, implying the message that "adults are talking."

In a related development, Trump has criticized some prominent podcast hosts and political commentators, including Carlson. The US president labeled Carlson a "low-IQ person" and "a fool," while also advising Carlson and fellow commentator Megyn Kelly to consult a psychiatrist.

Additionally, Trump expressed criticism towards Netanyahu's government for its actions in Lebanon. During remarks on Wednesday, he acknowledged Netanyahu as a "very good man" but suggested his approach during military operations could be too aggressive. Trump advised a "softer touch," cautioning that it is unnecessary to "knock down a building every time somebody walks into it that's from Hezbollah." He also referred to the US as the "big partner" in contrast to Israel's "very small partner" status in their bilateral relations.
