Turkish Stock Exchange Ends Midweek with Losses

Istanbul: The Turkish benchmark stock index closed on Wednesday at 14,331.21 points, marking a decrease of 1.43% from the previous close. The BIST 100 index, which began the day at 14,552.46 points, saw a decline of 208.40 points from its close on Tuesday.

According to Anadolu Agency, the index's lowest point during the day was 14,323.52, while it reached a daily high of 14,557.12. Out of the total indexes, 74 experienced a loss in value, whereas 24 managed to close in the green.

The daily transaction volume amounted to 139.4 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to $3 billion, with the overall value of the index standing at 13.98 trillion liras, or $301.29 billion. The foreign exchange rates at 6.10 pm local time (1510GMT) showed the USD/TRY at 46.4970, the euro/lira at 52.7970, and the British pound trading at 61.1925.

Gold prices were recorded at $3,998.25 per ounce, and Brent crude oil futures were priced at $73.40.
