Bahrain Intercepts Iranian Missile and Drone Attacks

Ankara: Bahrain announced that it successfully intercepted and destroyed several Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting its territory. The Bahraini army stated that Iran's actions were part of a systematic hostile campaign aimed at civilians within Bahrain. This was communicated via a statement on the US social media platform X.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Bahraini army emphasized that the deliberate use of missiles and drones against civilians and private property is a clear violation of international humanitarian law. The army assured that all branches and units of the Bahraini Defense Force are maintained at the highest level of readiness to protect the Gulf state. Citizens were also advised to avoid approaching any suspicious objects that might be remnants of the attacks.

The Interior Ministry of Bahrain reported damage to a residential building in the northern Muharraq Governorate due to the Iranian attacks, but confirmed there were no casualties. The ministry stated on X that necessary measures are being implemented at the attack site. Earlier in the day, sirens were activated across Bahrain in response to potential threats.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed responsibility for the missile and drone attacks on American military bases in Kuwait and Bahrain. This was purportedly in retaliation to recent US military strikes on Iranian targets, which were justified by the US as a response to Iranian attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
