Jerusalem: Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett expressed concerns on Tuesday about Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's ability to govern, asserting that Netanyahu is "incapable of governing his own government" due to the influence of far-right ministers Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich, along with ultra-Orthodox groups.

According to Anadolu Agency, Bennett made these comments during an interview with broadcaster Mario Nawfal, where he criticized Netanyahu for being controlled by these far-right elements. "He is incapable of governing his own government, because Ben-Gvir and Smotrich and Haredim, they all control him," Bennett stated, emphasizing that he would not tolerate such influence within his own administration. Bennett further criticized Netanyahu's dependence on these ministers, stating that it prevents him from maintaining order within his government.

Bennett also addressed Israel's declining international reputation, attributing it to the current government's actions rather than external factors like biased media or propaganda. He described the situation as "ongoing self-inflicted wounds" and criticized the lack of effective public diplomacy. In addition, Bennett expressed concerns over prolonged military engagements in the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, and against Iran, stating that such strategies were not in line with Israel's military doctrine and were detrimental to the country.

He advocated for a more strategic approach to conflicts, suggesting that military actions should be swift and decisive to prevent economic strain and exhaustion of reservists. "If we have to pursue war, do it quickly, intensively, win and move on to stabilize the region," Bennett advised, highlighting the need for a more effective and sustainable military strategy.
