Saudi arabia: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and French President Emmanuel Macron held a phone conversation to discuss recent developments concerning the Iran-US memorandum of understanding and the broader issue of regional stability, according to Saudi state news agency SPA.

According to Anadolu Agency, the dialogue between the two leaders focused on reviewing both regional and international developments. They highlighted the necessity of ensuring freedom of navigation in the region and supporting diplomatic initiatives to mitigate escalation. The conversation also included an in-depth discussion on the recent memorandum signed between the US and Iran, aiming to explore comprehensive solutions for achieving security and stability across the region.

In addition to the main topics, the leaders examined existing areas of cooperation between Saudi Arabia and France and addressed several regional and international matters of mutual concern. The talks are set against a backdrop of renewed tensions between the US and Iran, which persist despite ongoing negotiations for a broader agreement to end the conflict that was intensified by US and Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28.

The memorandum of understanding reached between Iran and the US on June 18 includes provisions for ending hostilities, lifting the US naval blockade on Iran, and reopening the strategic Strait of Hormuz for global energy supplies.
